I offer relational psychodynamic and psychoanalytic psychotherapy for adults in West Hollywood and via telehealth throughout California
About me
I believe therapy works best when you feel like you can bring your whole self into the room, including the parts that feel messy, uncertain, contradictory, or difficult to put into words. I strive to create a space that feels warm, genuine, and collaborative, where you do not have to perform, have the right answer, or take care of me in order to be understood.
I am especially drawn to working with people who find themselves questioning ways of being that once felt familiar or necessary. Maybe you have spent years adapting to the needs and expectations of others, or you are trying to understand a relationship that continues to affect you. You may be grieving someone or something that mattered deeply, reconsidering beliefs that once shaped how you understood yourself, or finding that a change in your life has left you unsure of who you are now. Sometimes it is not easy to name exactly what feels wrong, only that the ways you have learned to move through the world no longer feel quite like your own.
I also understand that people are rarely just one thing. You can love someone and be angry with them. You can miss something and know you do not want it back. You can question what you were taught while still longing for parts of what it gave you. You can want closeness and be frightened by it at the same time. Those complicated places are often where some of the most meaningful work happens—not in finding a simple answer, but in making room for what has been difficult to understand.
My hope is that therapy with me gives you room to slow down and become curious about yourself without judgment. Together, we can listen more closely to feelings and questions that may have been difficult to hold elsewhere and begin to recognize the patterns that have shaped how you see yourself and relate to others.
More than anything, I hope our work helps you know yourself more deeply and feel increasingly free to live and relate in ways that feel like your own.
Training & Experience
I hold a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Palo Alto University and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from California State University, Long Beach.
My clinical training began at The Maple Counseling Center, where I received training in psychodynamic psychotherapy while working with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship difficulties, and questions of identity.
I later continued my training at the Wright Institute, Los Angeles, where I completed a two-year certificate program in psychoanalytic psychotherapy and deepened my training in psychoanalytic and relational approaches to working with adults.
I am a Registered Associate Professional Clinical Counselor, APCC15531, in California, and currently practice under the supervision of Dr. Aimee Martinez, Licensed Psychologist, PSY28937.
